Residents of the small town of Albinen have devised an ingenious scheme to boost the population of its small town by offering $25000 to each adult and an additional $10000 for each child that relocates there. Albinen is small Dreamy village in the canton of Valais, Switzerland with a population of less than 300 welcoming country folk. Uncorrupted by tour groups and bollywood honeymooners Albinens mountain meadows are a treat to the senses. But that’s about all that this small traditional Swiss town has to offer. So it’s most likely that city people that are used to a lot of stimuli may not feel at home in this quite mountainous village.

Don’t Start Packing Just Yet
The proposition has created a social media frenzy and the local authorities claim to have gotten thousands of enquires from all over the world. To be eligible for the payout you need to be under 45 years of age and must buy or build a permanent place of residence and live there.
If you decide to move out of Albinen before 10 years you’re going to have to say goodbye to the money. The language spoken here is German (Schweizerdeutsch) different for German. So getting by would be difficult if you don’t speak the language.

By road less than a couple hours from major attractions like Bern, Geneva and Monteux. A regular bus service connects the town with the local main town Leuk (approx. 20 min. / access to the Swiss Train Network) and the alpine resort Leukerbad (approx. 15 min.)
