Aamchi Mumbai! The Cleanest Capital In India

Guess What? If you are a Mumbaikar then you can say that you currently stay in cleanest state capital of India.

What Is It?

Mumbai has been declared the cleanest state capital in the Swachh Survekshan 2018, announced recently. With Mumbai’s rank dropping from No. 10 in 2016 to No. 29 in 2017, the BMC had taken steps to improve the city and clearly it showed its results this year, it has been ranked No.1. The rankings are based on the data provided by municipal corporations, independent assessors and feedback from people. After Mumbai fared much lower than Navi Mumbai and Pune last year, the civic body had appointed an agency to improve its performance. The BMC had also begun a campaign on Twitter asking people to vote.

Also Navi Mumbai won the award for being India’s best in solid waste management among cities with a population of over 10 lakh. This good news does not mean that our work as the citizens of Mumbai or the BMC’s work is done, we have a long way to go and keep Mumbai a clean city for the coming years.
