What Is It?

The iconic Wings of Mexico has taken up temporary residence in Abu Dhabi until October 31 & you can go see it. This stunning sculpture was created in 2010 by popular Mexican artist Jorge Marinhas & has become a symbol of hope & dreams of the Central American nation’s citizens while promoting Mexico’s image and artistic output worldwide. Its elegant design consists of two wings of bronze, which are placed on an iron frame above three steps of concrete.

The wings have visited Kuwait, Egypt, Singapore, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Bangkok & the impressive sculpture is now to be housed in Abu Dhabi’s cultural center, Manarat Al Saadiyat, in Saadiyat Island’s Cultural District.
