The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has come up with a new smart parking meter which will make our lives much easier.
What Is It?
If the new parking system gets approved then you might not have to place a parking ticket on the car anymore which will change to e-tickets soon. The Roads and Transport Authority has come up with new smart parking meters which will require the users to enter in the vehicle plate number with the duration of parking before paying. The payment can be done in coins or by cards.

What Else?
The new touchscreen parking tickets are only installed in Al Jafiliya, which is currently on a Beta version and if approved, it will be upgraded all across the city.
