Want to learn all about chikoo wine and plantations? Head to India’s first ever Chikoo wine festival which is 3 hours away from Mumbai.
What Is It?
Happening on the 27th and 28th January in Bordi area of Dahanu (close to Mumbai & Pune), Fruzzante is inviting you to celebrate the Chikoo festival. Learn about Chikoo plantations, pluck Chikoos right off the trees, participate in treasure hunts, play with sand, run a Chikoo marathon, and more importantly, taste the first ever Chikoo wine to be made in the country!

What’s In It?
There are going to be over a 100 stalls for the shopaholics of the family, selling artefacts, specially manufactured products, fruit and fruit by-products. There are going to be over 30 stalls for the food connoisseurs selling rich and fresh local cuisine, giving an authentic taste to the festival. Commercial food will not be allowed, and for good reason, which will allow the local food flavours to shine, in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. There will be Chikoo wine tours and wine tasting along with the event, so here’s a chance to get tipsy during the long weekend.

How To Get There?
The winery is a part of Hill Zill resort in Dahanu. You can book a luxurious stay at the resort or even visit the winery for a tour and taste the chikoo wine. It is in Dahanu, which is only 3 hours away from Mumbai (one hour from Pune). You can get there by a rail road onto Mumbai or Pune and reach Dahanu by car.
