What Is It?

Korlai Fort is a Portuguese fort situated at Korlai in Raigad district in Maharashtra. It is a gorgeous sight that is also one of the popular spots in Alibaug to see.

What’s In It?

The fort was built in 1521AD on Morro de Chaul island that surrounds a large forest area. The fort is of 2828 length and 1521AD old with around 11 gates that exhibit the ancient Portuguese inscriptions.

The area within the fort is divided into three enclosures by two lines of bastioned fortifications. From the southern gate of the fort, tourists can travel to the Korlai Lighthouse that stands tall with a stunning view from the top.
