Calicut Paragon in Karama is well known for the variety of ‘Malabar’ cuisines and enjoys cult status in Kerala as well as in Dubai.

What Is It?

It has been ranked India’s best restaurant for coastal cuisine by Times Now Foodie Awards and consistently ranked among Dubai’s best restaurants by Time Out Awards and Ahlan Masala Awards. If you haven’t visited this place yet you’ve missed out on a lot of flavours in life! This brilliant budget restaurant is a place you should arrive hungrily and save time for a good nap after ward. From the buttery Kerala Parotha (AED 2.25) to the delicious mains that often cost AED 25, this restaurant is an absolute value for money.

What Else?

One of my regular orders is the Beef Ularthiyathu (AED 26.25) & Mutton Varattiyathu (AED 26.25) which are semi gravy & loaded with yummy coconut shavings. If you are looking to try something milder in flavour then try the Prawn Moilee (AED 31.5) which is a coconut-based gravy & to compliment it order an Appam (AED 2.25). Appam is a type of pancake, made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk.
