The Sheikh Zayed Festival is back for its 2026/2027 edition, opening on October 30 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the supervision of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Presidential Court. This year’s run stretches across 136 days, wrapping up on March 14, 2027, with a wide-ranging programme of cultural, entertainment and sporting events.

A Season Built On Culture And Connection

As one of the UAE’s leading annual events, the festival continues to bring together families, communities and visitors from across the world through a mix of culture, entertainment, arts, sport and international participation, all anchored in authentic Emirati heritage. International pavilions and global participation once again position it as a meeting point for cultures, connecting the country’s past with its present.

Emirati Heritage Takes Centre Stage

Traditional Emirati arts, crafts and industries remain a core part of the experience, alongside heritage sports tied to the UAE’s environment, camel racing, falconry and maritime traditions among them. These elements give younger generations a chance to engage directly with traditional Emirati life and strengthen their connection to the nation’s culture and identity, alongside traditional and artistic performances, family programmes, interactive activities and new experiences introduced each season.

Celebrations, Concerts And Record-Breaking Shows

Visitors can expect a full calendar of popular and official celebrations, including Eid Al Etihad, New Year festivities and Ramadan events, backed by music and entertainment performances from leading Arab and Gulf artists. Fireworks, drone and laser shows return too; some editions of these displays have previously set Guinness World Records, and this season is expected to keep up that reputation.

A Festival Made For Families

Family experience remains central to the festival’s design, with extensive spaces dedicated to entertainment, learning and interaction for all ages. Children and young visitors, in particular, get the chance to explore both Emirati heritage and world cultures through experiences that blend knowledge, activity and enjoyment, making it as much an educational outing as a festive one.
