The Dubai Food Festival started on 22nd of February and goes on till 10th March 2018. This annual festival is a culinary delight coupled with an exciting line up of events.

What Is It?

Dubai Food Festival ( DFF) started 4 years back and clocked in over 190,241 attendees last year, a year-on increase of 34% since 2016. What started off with the aim of bringing local brands into the limelight has now diversified into a full-fledged festival which sees international chefs and artists championing the culinary scene in Dubai.

17 days of tantalizing treats, DFF 2018  has 4 main highlights making it all-encompassing, reaching out to all kinds of food lovers. There’s something for the fine diners, the food truck lovers, the ones who love exploring lesser-known restaurants and the ones who like a wholesome experience with music and activities to keep them engaged while munching.

What’s In It?

Dubai Restaurant Week AKA Fine dining without a fine bill –  Spanning over 10 cuisines, 15 different restaurants are a part of the fine dining for less deal wherein you can indulge in a fine gastronomical experience at an economical cost. 3-course set menus have been specially curated for the event for AED 199 and will include a range of cuisines and gourmet dishes. The sittings are from 7 PM to 9 PM each night, but reservations are highly recommended.

Beach Canteen AKA Food trucks galore – The Etisalat Beach Canteen, a pop-up venue on JBR will flaunt homegrown food trucks, cafes, and restaurants. From American grub food to Vietnamese street food, it is sure to be a culinary hotspot. Barring the food, there’s going to be live performances, fitness sessions, flea markets and carnival-like activities here. At the beach, two family-friendly Beach Brunches are scheduled to be held- February 23 and March 1. The Beach Canteen comes to an end with the Dubai International Kite Fest event on March 9 and 10.

Hidden Gems AKA Dubai’s least-known best restaurants – A curated list of Dubai’s hidden gems, the city’s best restaurants that no one knows about and meals at these places on certain days ( Meal Days as they call it) during the festival at undefeatable prices for you to experience the wonder. These restaurants were chosen based on a voting campaign and you can see who made the cut here and a quick guide to dates here.

Taste of Dubai AKA Food meets music – The last fragment to Dubai Food Festival are the live performances and cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

You can take a masterclass with world-class chefs like Sanjeev Kapoor, Reza Mohammad, Jenny Morris, Silvia Baracchi and, Maria Grazia Soncini. If not a masterclass you can enroll yourself in a cooking challenge and cook alongside celebrity chefs Jenny Morris, Reza Mohammad, Sanjeev Kapoor, Eric Lanlard, Jun Tanaka, Valentine Warner and Annabel Karmel.
