Fellow Borivali’ites, your favourite Hungry JD’s, is now out and about with a full-time restaurant! And it gives a cheesy twist to the Bombaiya vadapav – The Cheese Burst Vada Pav!
What Is It?
The restaurant is Mumbai-local theme-based, where your favorite food is served with a twist. And when I say twist, I mean, Jalapeno Pani Puris, Cheese burst vada pavs and more. Watch the #InAMinute video to see how it looks.
Latino Cheese Burst Vada Pav (₹150)
Ever imagined having your favorite Mumbai street food filled with oodles of cheese? Well, the Latino cheese burst vada pav here is true to its name, and the vadas boast of oodles of dripping cheese! The vada is made with potato, beans, jalapeno, spiced up with chipotle and the buns are arranged with lettuce, slice of cheese, cherry tomato and chipotle mayo. You have to witness it, to believe it! They serve the cheese burst vada pav between 12 noon and 7pm only.

Desi Nachos (₹250)
The nacho chips are made of spinach and they claim that no colour is added. To give it a desi twist, they have added chaat in it, and serve it with salsa sauce. The quantity of one bowl is literally enough to feed 3 to 4 people so you might wanan order accordingly!
Thepla Tacos (₹240)
The traditional thepla has been given a number of avatars, one being the ‘thepla-taco’. This trend started off with Chaayos and has now moved on to the latest offering, Hungry JD’s. I wouldn’t wish to compare, but I’ve had the thepla taco at both places, and I feel Hungry JD’s is hands-down the bestest anyone could prepare! The theplas are crisp and loaded with rajma beans, olives, sauces and cheese! Its a must try if you visit.
Chocolate Martini (₹195)
These guys don’t do alcohol, but I must say, they know their Martini in and out! Despite it being a virgin Martini, the taste of the rich chocolate makes me want to gulp down 5 glasses of their chocolate martini at once! I mean it! The texture is smooth, velvety and rich. The chocolate shavings on top make it all worth the price. I think its safe to call this one my comfort-martini!
The Story
A civil engineer turned entrepreneur started his journey with a food truck and after the successful response, he came up with an idea of a full time restaurant. Amongst few other dishes, the food truck was famous for creating pizza with five 5 different chutneys. And continuing the legacy, the restaurant now has a new twist where they serve various cuisines, carrying a Mumbaiya-style taste to it.

In fact, it’s not just the food, it’s also the décor and the interiors that display Mumbai in the best way possible. They have a train look alike sitting area, that give away a Mumbai-local feel and also a wall graffiti based on the life of a Mumbaikar. They have open seating which has a capacity to seat 150. The outdoor seating has a carnival based theme. They are planning to launch a Phase 2 to the restaurant, that would include a children’s recreational area.
Considering, they have evolved from a food truck, they have also designed 6 food carts with different varieties of cuisine
