Anupam and Aditi Mathur with their two kids and grandparents drove across 22,000 kms and 17 countries just to cheer the boys in blue play for the country. However, after the defeat Anupam in his facebook confessed he is a bit disappointed! “It feels as though our Road Trip had its first flat tyre incident. And guess what, we are unlikely to find a spare wheel, for at least the next 4 years!”

Many may say that their 48-day journey across countries was a total waste, but we all love cricket as a game and must accept setbacks and defeats only to rise higher and work harder. 22,ooo km is definitely a dedication to cricket their trust and love in the team. I am sure they weighed the chances of Indian losing. But took this trip anyway which shows that we Indians respect the game and not just focus on winning.

Anupam in his facebook post said ‘It’s time to put the disappointment behind and get back to the wheel. The passion for cricket continues though – we will keep track of Semi-Final 2 and the Finals. It gives us a chance to watch the game focusing purely on the quality of cricket, without any emotions involved!’

They have been blogging all this time, recording how many hours they travelled and across which countries. This 48-day extravagant journey taken by the family crossed some prime locations starting from their home in Singapore to Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and finally into the United Kingdom as reported by the CN Traveller.

It must have been really hard for them to see India lose against New Zealand. But Anupam and Aditi can be called true cricket fans to take this journey for their team.
