However, he was resurrected after three days — on Easter! This day is celebrated worldwide by the Christian community. And on this joyous occasion, you can treat your family with these Easter recipes by the chefs themselves!
Easter Recipes To Make At Home
1. Pecan Nut Pie, Conrad Bengaluru
Chef Manoj Rawat, the sous chef of Conrad Bengaluru, has a special pie recipe that you can make at home. Start by making the crust pastry with plain flour, butter, milk/ water and a pinch of salt. Make a dough and start rolling it out as a sheet and make a tart shell. For the filling, use white sugar, corn syrup, butter, cold water, cornstarch, salt, vanilla extract and pecans. Now preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Now combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, water, and cornstarch in a saucepan. In another bowl, beat eggs and gradually add the syrup mixture with salt, pecans and vanilla. The next step is to pour the pecan mixture into the pie shell and heat it for 45 to 50 minutes.
2. Tenderloin Wellington, Conrad Bengaluru
There is nothing better than the Tenderloin Wellington for an Easter lunch and Chef De Cuisine of Conrad Bengaluru Abhishek Kumar has a perfect recipe for you. The ingredients for this dish include a centre fillet of buff tenderloin, olive oil, unsalted butter, rosemary, red onion, garlic, mixed mushrooms, chicken livers, Worcestershire sauce, truffle oil, breadcrumbs, puff pastry, egg, onions, thyme, Madeira wine, English mustard, flour, and organic buff stock.
Preheat a large frying pan on high heat and rub the beef tenderloin with sea salt and black pepper. Pour oil into the pan and add the tenderloin, one cube of butter and one sprig of rosemary. Sear the tenderloin for 4 minutes, then wipe out the pan and return to medium heat. After chopping the mushrooms into small pieces and adding the final knob of butter to the pan, peel the onion and garlic. Cook for 15 minutes after adding the remaining rosemary leaves in strips. Cook for a further few minutes after adding the livers and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. The mushroom pâté should be finely chopped and perfectly seasoned.
Preheat the oven to 210°C and roll out the pastry and spread the mushroom pâté over the pastry. Wrap the tenderloin around the pastry and transfer it to a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Heat the tray on the hob for a couple of minutes and transfer it to the oven and cook for 40 minutes. For the gravy, peel and roughly chop the onions and put them into a large pan with a lug of oil and thyme leaves. Cook for 20 minutes, add jam, Madeira, mustard, flour, and stock, and blend with a stick blender. Serve with gravy and steamed greens.
3. SNICKERS Easter Egg Blondies, Mars Wrigley
Mars Wrigley has curated a special dessert recipe made with SNICKERS. Ingredients include flour, baking powder, salt, butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, SNICKERS Minis, frosting, and candy melts. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line the baking pan with parchment paper. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and chopped SNICKERS Minis, and bake for 20-25 minutes. Whip together icing sugar, butter, vanilla essence, and cream, roll to quarter-inch thickness, chill in a chiller, stuff with favourite goodies, apply chocolate, and glaze with icing or chocolate.
5. Easter Bunny Buns, The Tamara Coorg
The second recipe by Chef Parimi Shreeram, Executive Chef at TTC, is Easter Bunny Buns. And the ingredients include flour, sugar, salt, milk, soft butter, and an egg. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, milk, butter, egg, and flour. Beat on high for 2 minutes, then add more flour. Knead for 100 turns. Then line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside eight sets of raisins for eyes. Cut the dough in half and roll it into a 6 x 12-inch oval. Cut 2 larger circles from each end and 4 smaller ones in the middle. Cut 4 ears and 4 tiny half-inch circles for the noses. Then, tuck two ears under the top of each bunny’s head. Bake in a preheated 375° F oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
6. Rose & Mango Chocolate Mousse In A White Chocolate Eggshell, The Tamara Kodai
Executive Chef Nitish Chandra Phani has a unique recipe with delicious rose and mango flavours. Firstly,note the ingredients needed for mousse include fresh rosemary, cream, mango puree, white chocolate, and mint leaves. White chocolate will be necessary for making eggshells as well. For the mousse, heat cooking cream, add white chocolate and rosemary, chill for 3-4 hours, then beat whipped cream. Add this to the mixture and set it aside.
For eggshell, melt white chocolate, pour the mixture into an eggshell mould, remove the excess and chill for 20 minutes. Finally, the egg shells should be arranged on a table, filled with mousse, then filled with mousse and mango puree, and then heated from the outside of the shells before serving.
7. Chocolate Truffle Cake, Grand Hyatt Mumbai
On the occasion of Easter, you can surprise your folks with this delicious chocolate truffle cake by Pastry Chef Dinesh Pai. Ingredients needed for this recipe are egg, sugar, flour, cocoa powder, butter, dark couverture, cream and dark couverture shavings. Firstly, eggs, sugar, flour, cocoa powder, butter and chocolate are mixed together and poured into a cake ring. The mixture is baked at 180 degrees Celsius for 50 minutes. The cream is heated and stirred until completely dissolved. Then, dark chocolate is added and stirred until completely dissolved. Keep the mixture in fridge for at least 24 hours. 8. Hot Cross Buns, Grand Hyatt Mumbai
Pastry Chef Dinesh Pai at Grand Hyatt Mumbai has another delicious Easter recipe that you will like to try — Hot Cross Buns! Ingredients for this recipe are Bakers flour, sugar, salt, yeast, butter, milk powder, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, raisins, orangeade and citronnade.
Recipe: Mix all ingredients except fruits into a mixing bowl and stir for 5 minutes at low flame and 12 minutes at high flame. 3 minutes before stopping stirring, add fruits to the dough. Then, knead the dough and rest it for around 20 minutes. Cut the dough pieces and rest for 15 minutes. Roll the pieces out to the size of the dough divider tray. Divide the dough and make it round. Place the tray in the prover and remove after 90 mins, then pipe the cross. For piping, mix flour, water and oil together and pipe on the pieces. Bake at 200 and decrease to 185 for 18 minutes.
