To fool consumers and increase profits, many people are making synthetic panner using milk powder, lemon, acetic acid, and water. Lastly, they use palm oil to get the desired shiny texture.

Gently press a bit of panner and see if it is crumbling easily. If yes, you must avoid purchasing it.

You can even chew a small bite of raw panner. If the taste is sour and the texture seems too rubbery, it has a major chance of being adulterated.

2. Taste It

After buying the paneer and returning home, make sure to boil it before cooking it. Add soybean powder to hot water and boil it. If the paneer's colour turns reddish, it is likely to be fake.
