Established in 1985, the government-sponsored film and cultural centre is the first multiplex of Kolkata.

1. Historical Establishment

Legendary Indian director Satyajit Ray inaugurated the cinema hall on September 2, 1985. Back in 1980, Jyoti Basu, former Chief Minister of West Bengal, laid Nandan's foundation stone.

The cultural centre has four screens; Nandan-I, Nandan-II, Nandan-III, and Nandan-IV.
