Rainy season brings the risk of food-borne diseases and it is extremely crucial to wash vegetables properly, especially green leafy veggies. Here are some basic tips to help you prevent the risk of falling ill from eating unhealthy greens.

The first step is to throw away rotten leaves, take only the fresh and healthy ones, and put them away in a clear place. 

1. Separate

Wash the bunch clearly under running water. Ensure that each leaf is cleaned thoroughly.

You can even mix 1 tbsp vinegar in a pot of water and wash leafy greens in it.

One effective hack is to rub the veggies gently to remove all dirt stuck on them.

Add salt to the water and boil for a few minutes. Turn off the gas, add the leaves, and keep the container aside for about a minute.
