In a bid to revive the number and boost the country’s tourism, Hong Kong is welcoming more independent travellers with its Individual Visit Scheme.

8 Chinese Cities Join The Scheme

And now 8 major capital cities  from China have joined this solo  travel scheme.

These cities include Urumqi, Lhasa, Hohhot, Taiyuan, Harbin, Lanzhou, Xining, and Yinchuan.

What The Scheme Allow

From May 27, solo travellers from these areas can visit Hong Kong and stay for up to seven days at a time.

Scheme Expansion

This is the second time in less than three months that this scheme has been expanded. Before this 51 Chinese cities were part of this solo travel scheme.

About Individual Visit Scheme

Started in 2003, the ‘Individual Visit Scheme’ is part of a cooperation agreement to boost the city's economy.

Encourage Solo Travel

This scheme allowed Chinese residents to apply for individual travel rather than in a tour group to Hong Kong and helped boost the city’s economy in the past.
