Are you bored of eating the same plain idlis all the time? If yes, here's a recipe for Spot Idli shared by Chef Depinder Chhibber. It is a popular street food in Hyderabad.

• To make the idli batter, mix 1 cup fine semolina, 1/2 cup yoghurt, about 1 cup of water, and some salt. Once done, keep it aside for at least 20 minutes.

• To make podi masala, roast 1/4 cup chana daal, 1/4 cup urad daal, 1/4 cup sesame seeds, 1 tbsp cumin seeds, 7-8 cloves of garlic, and 7-8 dried red chillies.

• Once the roasted spices cool down, add 1/2 tsp hing, some salt, and 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder. Lastly, grind everything to prepare the powder.

• Next, take a pan and add 2 tbsp oil, onion, ginger, and garlic. After cooking for some time, add tomatoes, curry leaves, coriander leaves, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, and podi masala. Cook for 4-5 mins

• Before making idli, add 1/2 tsp bi-carb soda to the batter. Next, add oil to a pan, put some tomato and onion mixture, pour about 3 tbsp of idli batter, and cook.

• Lastly, add a little bit of podi masala to the freshly cooked idlis. • Serve spot idlis with coconut chutney and some podi masala.
