Imagine a perfect blend of Indian flavours and aromatic pizza on the same plate. Sounds too appetising, right? Chef Aruna Vijay curated a special recipe for Thatte Idli Pizza and it is rich in the deliciousness of both idli and pizza sauce.

The best part about this special recipe is that it does not contain any onion or garlic.

• 2 tbsp olive oil • 1 tsp chilli flakes • 2 tsp oregano • 1.5 cups grated tomato • 1/2 tsp salt • 1 tsp pepper powder • 10-15 basil leaves • 1 tsp sugar • Idli batter • Ghee • Mozzarella cheese

• To make the pizza sauce, saute chilli flakes and oregano in olive oil first. Next, add a generous amount of grated tomato, salt, pepper powder, and sugar, and cook for at least 10 minutes. Lastly, add basil leaves and cook for another 5 minutes.

• Use regular idli batter to prepare thatte idli. Transfer it to a mould and steam till you get desired idlis.

• Drizzle ghee on tawa and fry thatte idli till it becomes golden. Add some pizza sauce on one side of the fried idli.

• Add a few slices of mozzarella cheese and cover it till the cheese melts perfectly.
