Restoration work for the development of the Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum project will soon begin at Raisina Hill’s iconic North and South Blocks in Delhi.

As per India Today, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has been granted approval by the Heritage Conservation Committee (HCC) for the project.

The buildings will undergo phased restoration and once completed, will be the largest museum in the world.

The HCC has outlined guidelines to maintain the North and South Blocks’ original heritage character.

The guidelines specify preserving the buildings’ colour, form, and materials. They specified that no external modifications should be made to the buildings.

As per reports, the timeline for clearing out the buildings is being finalised and the restoration work will begin from the North Block.

Once complete, Yuge Yugeen Bharat will replace the National Museum of India as the country’s national museum.
