Make Kerala-Style Fish Curry

Devour Thrissur-style Fish Curry straight from the heartlands of Kerala with a recipe by Akshaya Merin Babu.

Ingredients 

500g of fish 10 to 15 shallots 1 medium piece of ginger 6 to 8 green chillies 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder 2 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp of coriander powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp of coconut oil 2 strings of curry leaves 2 cups of coconut milk 1/2 of 1 raw mango 1 tbsp of coconut oil

Step 1 

Crush shallots, green chillies and ginger in a mortar with a pestle.

Mix together the crushed aromats with the spice powders, salt and oil. Then, pour coconut milk in this.

Step 2 

Cook this on medium heat and add chopped raw mangoes in the kadai.

Step 3

Next, add pieces of fish jnto this gravy and cook it.

Step 4

Finish the curry with a tempering of curry leaves, shallots and coconut oil and a cup of fresh coconut milk. Your Thrissur-style Fish Curry is ready!
