It's time to ditch the store-bought lemon curd and make the delicious dessert spread at home. Chef Parth Bajaj shared a great recipe for this deliciousness.

• 4 egg yolks • 2 whole eggs • Zest of a lemon • 90 ml lemon juice • 90g caster sugar • 50g cold butter

• Take a lemon and grate its peel gently to get lemon zest. Next, squeeze it. If you are using a desi lemon commonly found in India, dilute its juice with some water. Avoid adding water if you are using an Italian lemon.

• Mix egg yolks, whole eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice (water if needed), and caster sugar in a bowl.

• Cook for at least 6 minutes or till the consistency thickens. Turn off the gas, add cold butter to the mixture, and combine everything well.

• In the last step, strain the freshly prepared lemon curd to get a smooth texture.
