1. Take 1/2 cup of besan in a bowl and add 1/3 cup of water and 2-3 drops of food colour to it. 2. Mix it well to form a slurry.
3. Now, fry this batter in oil on medium flame to make boondi. 4. Once nicely fried, take it off the heat and let it cool completely. 5. Then grind to a coarse powder.
6. Now, take ½ cup of sugar in a pan and add 3/4 cup of water to it. 7. Then add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder to it and cook it till you get a thin string-like consistency.
8. Next, add the ground boondi mixture to the pan and cook the mixture on low flame till all the sugar syrup is soaked up. 9. Finally add 1 tbsp melon seeds and 1 tbsp ghee to it and mix it together.
10. Place the motichoor mixture in a modak mould and shape the modaks.
And that’s it! Motichoor Modak for Bappa is ready to be served and enjoyed!
