Starting on January 18, Kolkata is celebrating the 47th edition of the boimela. The theme country for this year is the UK.

For last year's book fair in the City of Joy, Spain was the theme country.

2022 celebrated the 45th edition of the boimela and the theme country was Bangladesh. In 2021, the Kolkata book fair was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
