Mash 500g boiled potatoes. Mix in 50g breadcrumbs, 1 finely chopped green chilli, 2 tbsp chopped coriander, and salt to taste. Shape into round patties.

In a saucepan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add 1 diced onion and cook until golden. Stir in 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp cumin seeds, and 2 chopped tomatoes. Cook until soft.

Mix in 1 tsp each of turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala. Add 400g cooked chickpeas and 200ml water. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a frying pan. Shallow fry the patties until golden and crispy on both sides.

Add 1 tbsp lemon juice and chopped coriander to the chickpeas. Adjust seasoning.

Finely chop onions and tomatoes. Whisk some plain yoghurt until smooth.
