Here's Where The Indian Flag Was First Hoisted In India

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the Indian flag for the first time on Indian soil.

He hoisted the national flag back on 30 December 1943.

Netaji hoisted the flag in South Point of Port Blair, known as “Flag Point”.

Flag Point in Port Blair is nestled at a height of 150 feet.

Port Blair is a significant place in the independence struggle of India from the British.

Port Blair also houses The Cellular Jail where many freedom fighters were exiled.

The Cellular Jail is now a National Memorial and a hospital for the local people.
