Importance Of Kali Pujo

Kali Pujo is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali and is performed on the night of Kartik Amavasya.

It is believed that goddess Kali was born out of Maa Durga's forehead to save heaven and earth from demons.

According to a legend Goddess Kali killed demons Shumbh and Nishumbh who caused trouble to Indra and other gods.

The Pujo is celebrated to honour the goddess and asking her to always bless everyone with peace, happiness and success.

Huge idols of Maa Kali are brought   on communal grounds and everyone offers prayer to the goddess.

Goddess Kali is offered a Bhog Thali which consists of Bhogur Khichri, Labra Torkari, Begun Bhaja and Payesh.
