Since popcorn is made of corn kernels and it's not fried it's often believed to be a healthy snack.

Popcorn is healthiest when made at home by air-popping without any seasonings.

Homemade popcorn is rich in dietary fibre  and  low in calories. It contains many vitamins and minerals.

However, microwave popcorn is bad for health. It contains artifical flavourings and high amounts of salt.

Premade popcorn has too much sodium which can increase your blood pressure.

Popcorn at movies is also made with high amounts of salt, sugar and oil which makes it very unhealthy. 

Popcorn should be made naturally without any seasonings to gain all its health benefits. 

So, movie and microwave popcorn are both unhealthy. Eat popcorn cautiously.
