1. The name 'Kulfi' was derived from the Persian word 'qulfi' which means 'covered cup'.
2. This ice cream was introduced in the 16th century during the Mughal period.
3. In order to set kulfis, originally matkas or terracotta cups were used.
4. It is very similar to North America's frozen custard dessert.
5. it is believed that Kulfi originated in the Indian subcontinent.
6. Traditionally Kulfi was made in only two flavours: Classic Malai Kulfi and Pista Kulfi.
7. Kulfi is served on a stick, in matkas or even on a leaf in India. It is even paired with falooda!
