In a pan, dry roast the desiccated coconut on low heat until it turns light brown and fragrant.

In another pan, mix all the other ingredients and cook till it forms a syrup.

Remove the syrup from heat and add the roasted desiccated coconut. Mix well until all the coconut is coated with the syrup.

Allow the mixture to cool down until you can handle it comfortably.
Grease your palms with a little ghee or coconut oil and make laddoos.
