The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to operate around 5,000 extra buses on the occasion of the Ganesh Festival.

These 4,953 Ganpati special buses will operate from Mumbai, Thane and Palghar districts for the Konkan region from September 3.

Lakhs of people will be going to their native homes in Konkan during the Ganpati Festival and these buses will help make travel smoother for them.

As per News18 report, 2,481 of these buses will operate from Thane.

Around 1,841 buses will be operated from Mumbai.

From Palghar, 631 buses will ply towards the Konkan region.

As per reports, MSRTC will also offer 100% fare concession for passengers above 75 and 50% discount for women in these Ganpati Special Buses.

MSRTC will also place maintenance vehicles on the Mumbai-Goa highway along with temporary toilet facilities at various places for the convenience of the passengers.
