Women gather near anthill and decorate it flowers and haldi. They offer a special sweet 'Patoli' to the snake god.

People in Maharashtra & Gujarat bath serpent idols in water and milk, offer prayers and  also offer sweets.

Places like Benaras decorate their Akharas with pictures featuring snakes drinking milk.

People here worship Goddess Mansa devi who is known as the goddess of snakes.
