The coastal regions of Maharashtra celebrate Narali Poornima on Raksha Bandhan.
Narali bhaat or Coconut rice is made using coconut milk or coconut flakes.
Basmati rice 1 cup Grated Jaggery 3/4 cup 9-0 Cloves Water Salt
Fresh grated coconut 3/4 cup Ghee 4 tbsps Mixed nuts 1/4 cup Optional: Saffron strands
1/ Wash and drain rice. Keep it aside for 50 minutes. 2. With some ghee, roast some mixed buts and keep them aside.
3. Add three tbsp ghee and roast cloves. 4. Now add washed rice and mix. 5. Add saffron strands and wait for a brisk boil.
6. Add jaggery and coconut to a seperate sauce pan/ 7. As jaggery melts add the rice mixture kept aside.
8.Cook for 4-5 minutes. 0. Ready to serve
