Happening every June 24, National Pralines Day honours the confection made from nuts and sugar syrup. Take a look how you can make at home!

Add some sugar to the dry bottom of a heavy pan and then it begins to melt.

Step 1

Slightly swirl but don’t use a spoon or ladle and then turn it to the lowest flame.

Step 2

Gently push sugar to the edges, once it melts add some butter, but don’t let it smoke for long.

Step 3

Once this pan bubbles, start to add chopped almonds!

Step 4

Once mixed well, put it aside to cool down until it hardens.

Step 5

Once this turns brittle, you must break it into smaller pieces and add it to a small airtight bag
