Recipe: Here's an Easy Way to Make the Middle East's Famous Dessert, Knafeh

Place the shredded dough in a large bowl and drizzle the melted butter over it. Ensure every strand is coated. 

1. Prepare the Kataifi Dough

ake half of the buttered kataifi dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. 

2. Layer the Dough

Sprinkle the finely chopped pistachios and take the remaining half of the buttered kataifi dough and spread it over the nut layer. Again, press it down firmly to create the top layer

3.  Add the Nut Filling

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes.

Make the sugar syrup. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and lemon juice and immediately pour the hot sugar syrup evenly over it.
