Soak dal in water for four hours.

Step 1

Grind the dal until it is a fine puree.

Step 2

Boil milk and sugar in a pan and then add cardamom powder and saffron.

Step 3

Heat ghee in a pan, add moong dal puree to it and toast it for 30 mins.

Add the milk concoction to the dal mixture.

Cook the halwa till the texture is right.
