Take a banana leaf, cut it into square pieces, and place one on top of the other to make pocket-like moulds.

Make sure to add a slit on the sides of the leaves so that the edges sit well.

Use either a stapler or sticks to seal the edges of the banana leaves before pouring the idli batter. After adding the batter, let it steam in a pan or kadai.

Do not pour a lot of batter inside the leaf pockets else you won't be able to add samabar. Once the idlis are cooked, prick a fork or a stick to check if they are perfect.

Lastly, add sambar inside the pockets filled with idlis and enjoy!
