It has been reported that the recently launched Vande Bharat Express on the Secunderabad-Nagpur route are running nearly empty coaches.

As per The Times of India, last weekend, around 1,200 of the 1,440 seats on the train were empty.

This route was launched on Sept 16 with the aim of connecting Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region with Ramagundam, Kazipet, and Secunderabad.

Other Vande Bharat Routes 

The empty coaches of the new train are surprising for the authorities because Vande Bharat on the Bengaluru, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam routes are operating with 90-100% occupancy.

What’s The Next Step

As per The Times of India report, if the poor demand continues, then railways will reduce the number of coaches from the current 20 to 8 on this route.

The Secunderabad-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express covers the entire journey in 7.15 hours. It has 2 executive class coaches and 18 chair car coaches.
