Shravan Special: Make Delicious Sabudana Khichdi At Home

The holy month of Shravan or Sawan has begun and here we have a very popular Shravan recipe: Sabudana or Sago khichdi. 

INGREDIENTS 1 cup sabudana 1 medium potato 1/4 cup peanuts 1 tsp green chillies 1/4 tsp red chilli powder

INGREDIENTS 1 tsp grated ginger 1 tsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp cumin seeds Black pepper Sendha namak 1/2 tsp Coriander powder Ghee

PROCEDURE 1. Wash and soak sabudana for 5-6 hours.  2. While soaking it make sure the water is only 1-2 cm above sabudana.  3. Do not forget to stir it every 2 hours. 

PROCUDURE 4. After 5-6 hours, once it is soft, strain the water and keep it aside.  5. Roast peanuts in a pan and grind them without the skin. 

PROCEDURE 6. Take a ghee, add cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, ginger, black pepper powder, potato cubes and green chillies. 7 Stir fry them well until potatoes turn golden brown. 

PROCEDURE 8. Add sabudana mix and saute for 5 mins.  9. Add lemon juice and cook for 4-5 mins. 

PROCEDURE 10. Serve it in a plate with chopped coriander leaves. 

Ready to eat!
