Shravan Special Recipe: Make Delicious Sabudana Vada At Home

The holy month of Shravan has begun and for all the people who are fasting, here is a quick recipe. 

INGREDIENTS 1 cup sago/sabudana Senda namak to taste 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon sugar 2 mashed potatoes

INGREDIENTS 1/4 tsp chilli powder 1/2 tsp lemon juice 2 tbsp Ghee Dahi or curd 1/2 cup peanuts

IMPORTANT 1. Wash and soak sabudana for 5 hours.  2. While soaking it make sure the water is only 1-2 cm above sabudana.  3. Do not forget to stir it every 2 hours. 

PROCEDURE 1. Take boiled potatoes in a bowl and mash them.  2. Roast the peanuts well and then  keep it aside, later crush them.  3. Saute cumin seeds in 1 tsp ghee and keep it aside. 

PROCEDURE 4. Take a bowl, add sago, mashed potatoes and crushed peanuts into it and mix well.  '5. Add salt, chilli powder, sugar and lemon juice into it. 

PROCEDURE 6. Now make flat or round balls out of the mixture. 7. Now take some ghee or oil in a pan or kadai. Depending on your preference you can either shallow fry or deep fry these vades. 

PROCEDURE 8. Once they are golden brown, remove thema and place them on some tissues to soak excess oil. 9. Take some dahi in a bowl and add sugar to it. 

Serve hot and crispy with dahi sugar mix!
