Six sites have been added to India's tentative list by UNESCO's World Heritage Centre, India Today reported.

With these new additions, India now has 62 sites on UNESCO's tentative list.

UNESCO's Tentative List is an inventory of properties each country intends to consider for UNESCO nomination.

The list includes sites like Kanger Valley National Park in Chhattisgarh, Mudumal Megalithic Menhirs in Telangana, Chausath Yogini temples in MP & Odisha, Palaces & Fortresses of Bundelas in MP & UP, Ashokan Edict Sites along the Mauryan Routes, and Gupta temples in North India.

Currently, 43 sites from India are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Of these, 35 are in the ‘Cultural’ category, seven in the ‘Natural’ category, and one in the ‘Mixed’ category.
