According to the report, people are taking more than 3 trips a year. This is 25% more as compared to 2019.

There has been a growth of 97% in spiritual tourism in the last two years. Searches for Ayodhya grew by 585%, Ujjain by 359% and Badrinath by 343% in 2023 as compared to 2022.

Family travel bookings rose by 64% in 2023 as compared to 2022. Meanwhile, solo traveller booking growth was recorded at 23% for the same period.

As per MMT’s report, a significant portion of travel bookings in India are made spontaneously. Around 46% of domestic flights are booked less than a week before the travel date. Comparatively, about half of all international bookings are made at least two weeks in advance.
