For sugar syrup: 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 3 cardamom, powdered 1 tsp rose water optional For dough: - 8 pieces of bread - 3-4 tbsp milk + more if required - 2 tbsp milk powder (optional)

Remove edges and crumble the bread.

Add the milk gradually to knead into a dough. Make a soft dough. The dough shouldn’t be too tight.

When rolling the balls, remember to grease your hands with some ghee.

Fry the balls on low flame stirring in between. Fry till the balls turns golden brown.

Immediately, drop the hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup.

Boil the gulab jamun in the sugar syrup for at least 15 minutes on medium low heat and then cover and let it rest for 60 minutes before you serve them.

Make only with white normal bread. Bread gulab jamun is a little harder compared to the regular one as it’s made of maida. But it tastes equally good when had with syrup.
