Baking a pie is not a child's play but the process can be a bit easier by following some simple steps. Here are some handy tips to help you to make yummy pies at home.

If the dough is too dry, you will see it start cracking. Add enough moisture to the dough sprinkling sprinkles of cold water. Still, if you see cracks, patch those instead of rolling on them again and again. 

1. Perfect Dough

Make sure you use a fork or a knife to make some slits on the crust dough used in covering the pies. This step is crucial for the steam to get out easily.

Once you are done baking the crust before adding the filling, let it sit for at least 10 minutes.

If you are making a dessert pie, be extra cautious about the timing. Pies prepared using milk, eggs, or any other dairy product should not be baked for more than the recommended time.
