Persian Doogh is a refreshing, savoury yogurt-based drink flavoured with mint, perfect for cooling down on hot days. In many countries it's also referred as Aryan!
2 cups plain yogurt 2 cups cold water 1/2 teaspoon dried mint 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional) Ice cubes (optional)
In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt and cold water until smooth.
Stir in the dried mint, mixing well to distribute evenly.
Add salt and, if using, ground black pepper, then stir to combine.
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
Pour the doogh into glasses over ice cubes, if desired, and enjoy immediately.
