What's Kelyachi Kaap?

Kelyachi Kaap is a Maharashtrian delicacy of raw banana fritters. Check out this Kelyachi Kaap recipe by Malvika Hada Kumar.

Ingredients 

5-6 garlic cloves 2 inch ginger 2 green chillies Salt, to taste 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder 1-1/2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/4 tsp of garam masala powder 1/2 tsp of cumin powder 2 tsp of coriander powder Salt, to taste Juice from 1 lemon Others - 2-3 raw bananas 1/2 cup of rava 1 cup of rice flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder Oil, to fry

Step 1 

Using a mortar and pestle grind ginger, garlic, chopped green chillies and salt to a coarse paste.

Then, add the remaining spice powders, red chilli powder and turmeric and mix well.

Step 2 

Peel and slice the raw banana and coat it with this homemade fresh masala.

Step 3

Next, add rava, salt, Kashmiri chilli, lemon juice and rice flour and mix well.  Coat the marinated raw banana slices in this.

Step 4

Pan fry the raw bananas till they turn golden brown and crispy. Your Maharashtrian-style Kelyachi Kaap is ready!
