World’s Best Restaurants REVEALED! ELITE Nightlife Awards Co-Presented By Curly Tales In Dubai

As a foodie, you will know that no matter what the cuisine, and where you’re in the world, there’s something absolutely mesmerising about relishing food from other cultures. And if you happen to be an Indian then you will particularly resonate with the sentiment that nothing matches desi cuisine. And that’s probably the reason why you can find so many Indian restaurants scattered across the globe today. Keeping this in mind, recently the ELITE Magazine’s ELITE Nightlife Awards co-presented by Curly Tales was hosted at Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa. As it happens, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, was also present and here are all the juicy deets that you need to know!

Curly Tales X ELITE Nightlife Awards At Burj Khalifa

This year, Curly Tales co-presented the legendary ELITE Nightlife Awards, wherein 50 Best Indian & Indian-Owned Restaurants across the globe were awarded! The much-coveted event was held at the premises of the World’s Tallest Building, Burj Khalifa, on March 17. In fact, Kamiya Jani, the Editor-in-Chief of Curly Tales, was also present at the glamorous event! It’s only fitting since Dubai is the ultimate destination for foodies, where they will find an abundance of culinary delights, leaving them spoilt for choice. Not to mention, this event honoured 50 top restaurants to dine, wine and party in India and Dubai.

The distinguished event was undoubtedly a grand success, and it was attended by some of the most notable names in the industry. Ebraheem Al Samadi and Safa & Fahad Siddiqui of the Netflix Series, Dubai Bling; Sima Taparia from The Indian Matchmaking (which was nominated for the Emmy Awards); Neel Shukla, Rishi Singh – Director of Dubai and Delhi-based real estate company Silverdome Realtors; Nikhil Arora who is the Director of Virgo Laminates; and Akram Moideen Thumbay of Thumbay Pharmacy & Thumbay Hospitals Dubai, are just some of the many illustrious names who graced the event!

As it happens, many other prominent names from the culinary industry also made their way to this glitzy award ceremony. Suresh Nanda of the Claridges New Delhi and Taj Downtown Dubai, Restaurateurs like Sahil Sambhi, Vikram Bhambri, and Amit Bagga graced the event. And chefs, such as Gaurav Wadhwa, the Head Chef of Theo’s; Dhruv Oberoi, the Head Chef of The Olive Group; Mayank Tiwari, the Corporate Chef of the PVR Group; Vineet Manocha of LiteBiteFoods; and Nishant Chaubey, the International Chef Consultant were some of the many names in attendance.

What About The Awards?

Talking about the award ceremony itself, several celebrated names from the food and beverage industry were recognised for their efforts. As such, the Restaurateur(s) Of The Year was awarded to the husband and wife duo – Anu & Vikram Bhambri, who’re known for their venture ROOH. While juggling their IT jobs in the valley on the side, they started this successful chain of restaurants, which now has outlets in San Francisco, PALO ALTO, Chicago, Columbus, and New Delhi.

Here’s a glimpse at some of the other awards given for the night –

  • The award for Chef Of The Year was given to Manish Mehrotra of Indian Accent and Comorin. Shilpa Shetty’s BASTIAN was awarded the Restaurant Of The Year.
  • Daryaganj Restaurant, which also appeared on Shark Tank India was awarded the Dish Of The Year for their famed Dal Makhani.
  • Prashant Issar’s ISHAARA, which is located in Mumbai and only has Deaf and Mute staff serving the guests, won the Best Modern Indian Restaurant Award.
  • Sahil Sambhi was awarded the Nightlife Restaurateur Of The Year. He’s the brain behind the famous restaurant/bar brand Molecule and is now opening it across India. Not to mention, presently the outlet is located in Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jhansi, and Bhopal. Moreover, it’s also opening soon in Indore, Meerut, Allahabad, Faridabad, Ludhiana, Goa, Jalandhar, and Gwalior. His other notable venture is VietNom, which is soon opening in Worldmark Gurgaon, DlF Avenue, Assagao Goa, and BKC, Mumbai.

Doesn’t it all sound like a night to remember? Well, it’s safe to surmise that the night was indeed a raging success!
