As per the latest reports, the social media post regarding the inauguration of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line on the Central government’s handle, MyGovIndia has been removed. This has caused a lot of confusion amongst the people about the inauguration date of Mumbai’s first underground metro. Read on to know more.

Is Mumbai Metro 3 Really Opening On July 24?

Vinod Tawde, a senior ruling party politician, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Mumbai’s first underground metro will start operations on July 24. The tweet was reshared on MyGovIndia’s X (formerly Twitter) account. This got people in the city all excited about the opening of the much-anticipated metro line. However, these posts have now been deleted from both the accounts.

The MyGovIndia account is handled by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Therefore, making it a reliable source of information. However, now that these posts have been removed, just a day after they were published, it has led to a lot of confusion and chaos. There has been no reason given by the authorities yet for the removal of the tweet. It also isn’t clear whether the Aqua Line will open on July 24 or not.

According to a Mid-Day report, Mumbai Metro Line 3 officials have also offered no comments on the post or about the inauguration date. According to the report, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited has completed the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) trials for the rolling stock of this line. They are now awaiting an inspection by the commissioner of Metro Rail Safety.

Confusion Over Aqua Line’s Inauguration

On July 17, Vinod Tawde took to X (formerly Twitter) and said that Mumbai’s first underground metro (Aqua Line) will commence operations from July 24. The tweet was shared by MyGovIndia’s X account with the caption, “Next Stop? Mumbai Metro! Mumbai’s first underground metro, the Aqua Line, is set to begin operations on July 24.”

These posts have now been deleted and have caused people to wonder why the inauguration was suddenly cancelled. Since people in the city have been waiting for the line to open soon, the post quickly gathered momentum and went viral. There were speculations that the line might really open up sooner than it was expected.
