The Indian tourism industry witnessed a record-breaking year in 2023. Last year, it reached ₹16.5 trillion, as per Yogesh Mudras, the Managing Director of Informa Markets. This shows how crucial the tourism industry can be for the country’s economy.

Reports have also found that the frequency with which Indians travel has also increased significantly. All kinds of tourism, be it MICE or exploration of underrated places, are on the rise in India. Even spiritual tourism and exploration of popular destinations are on the rise.

For those who may not know, MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions. It is an aspect of Business tourism. The increase in MICE tourism is indicative of the fact that business travel is also on the rise.
