Drunch (a drunken or rather just a boozy brunch) is the new obsession right now and rightly so! Imagine sipping cocktails with your girls on a Sunday sunny afternoon over hours of chatty laughter or finishing off towers of freshly brewed beer along with delicious treats!
With tons of options, Kolkata surely knows how to brighten up Sunday afternoons. Neverthe less, these are our top 5 favourites (in no particular order) and where you need to head for that perfect drunchy Sunday in the city:

1. Zen @ Park Hotel, Park Street
Sheek, elegant and expensive is what Zen is all about! Gorge on the best sushis the city has on offer along with glasses of bubbly and you will be surprised at how quickly the time fleets by here! Asian cuisine that is theatrical to say the least and with a buffet spread that is a dream for all foodies – bubbly brunches at Zen never disappoint! Must visit if you’re particularly eager for a champagne brunch that screams out fancy and indulgent!

2. The Grid, Topsia Road
I absolutely love this place on weekends and it is one of the most popular drunch for family Sunday brunches. The USP has to be its unique interiors (you will be obsessed) and of course its own brewed beer (dark to light variants). One of the more affordable Sunday drunches in the city, expect to fall in love with the vibe. Expect a sufficient spread of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options, live counters for chaat and waffles (and unlimited glasses of bubbly and more at around ₹1200 only)!

3. Monkey Bar, Camac Street
Relatively recent to the Kolkata circuit, yet already enjoying the attention by the loyal customer base. Monkey Bar is where you can head to for some of the best punches and newly introduced beer based cocktails. With stunning city views to sit by, enjoy their #sundaydundrowners alongside lovely live music! The Sunday package includes unlimited selected drinks and you can order food as per al-a-carte.
Highly recommended: Nasi Goreng, Flutterfly, Cheese Dragon rolls, Truffle mushroom pizza, Keema Gholata, Tikki of Joy and the ginger beer.

When: Sundays, post afternoons – early evenings

4. Whats In D Name, Park Street
Kolkata winters are a dream (perfect weather and a festive vibe) and nothing makes them better than open air, breezy drunches that start from late afternoons and go on until chilly evenings! This centrally located bar-cum-club houses a terrace area with both an enclosed glass encounter and an open space finished with swing chairs and fairly lights. They’ve just started their famous Sunday brunches (taking place every winter) with live music and beautiful singing that you would like to eventually sing along to or maybe even dance at!
Well made peachy Bellini (all cute with a cherry on top), bottled beers, wines, rum and more – there are a range of packages that you can choose from depending on your own alcohol preferences! Expect a yummy spread of food to go along and eat till your heart’s content (the cheese platter, donuts and the Vietnamese rolls are my personal favourites for those never ending Sundays)!

When: Sundays (have to check in advance with them if they’re hosting one on your planned weekend)

5. Threesixtythree, New Market Area
A relatively new entrant for Sunday drunches and probably with the most widespread options when it comes to food. Brunch in luxury at threesixythree @Grand Hotel. The Grand Hotel is known for an old world charm and its threesixtythree is a modern take to make your Sundays even yummier and more exciting! Sushi, Bengali delicacies, salads, pancakes, healthy options, and a range of unique desserts – expect to discover new tastes and palettes while you sip on an unlimited flow of your favourite cocktails, vodka, beers and more!
