Desi Di opened last month with a lot of promise. Their classic dish, the Country Matka Chicken is breaking all records of being the heaviest and costliest dish at the restaurant.

The restaurant’s interiors remind you of a rural feel with the word ‘Welcum’ misspelled so that it reminds you of old shops. There is an old payphone, vintage instruments and a Tata truck within the restaurant along with steel chairs.

What’s In It?

The Country Matka Chicken is definitely the delight of the place and it’s served with a lot of style. An aluminum tray that holds two rice bowls, along with a mud pot where the chicken is placed. The chef personally cracks the pot until the top portion can fall off which reveals the yummy country chicken.

The Country Matka Chicken is the costliest item on the menu owing to the abundance with which it is served. The full item will cost you nearly ₹1599 but it can be shared among 4 people at least.

What Else?

Try out the exotic mocktails at this place including lemon barley shikanji and the red hibiscus iced tea. The mocktails are served in a tall beaker-like container for dramatic effect. Among the appetizers, arbi pakoda is served in an aluminum tiffin box like they would pack it to children in small tiffin boxes for school. For the meat lovers, the country chicken Afghani kebab will make you lick your fingers. Move on to the the spicy mushroom khakra ya papad for extra tastiness.
